As you read this I hope that you have had a Merry Christmas and the excesses of the season haven’t stayed with you longer than desired. If you’re anything like me you’ll be living in food regret and wondering how long it will be into the New Year until the rigours of life derail any New Years resolutions.
With all that said we are expecting that a turbulent property market won’t be one of the things upsetting the apple cart. As with every year end review we look back and we have had more than our fair share of tariffs and tragedies. Why can’t the world just get along?
Wars and conflicts have far reaching consequences and can’t be glossed over however the financial impacts of Trump’s Tariffs and a November Budget threatened to have a lasting impact on economies both at home and worldwide. Thankfully the brinksmanship of the tariffs was rescinded and the long heralded threats of the Budget never materialised.
All in all the property market has been a productive place again. As usual there are slight differences in areas with regard to the volume of sales activity but a highly successful year saw our property sales teams exceed targets across the board. So much so that we are proud to be named in the top 1% of estate agents throughout the country when it comes to the number of sales – not bad for an Employee Owned South Cumbrian estate agency mixing it with the big boys throughout the country!
In layman’s terms Poole Townsend have sold more property than any of our local competitors over the last year, and we are expecting this to continue throughout 2026. Especially with interest rates expected to be cut again to 3.75% within a few days of me writing this.
Whilst some agents have gone into hibernation for Winter we have seen continual sales and, Christmas week and New Year apart, expect this to keep picking up pace as the year grows older.
As with every year everyone at Poole Townsend wishes you a happy and healthy New Year and hope that our paths may cross in the near future should you require local expert knowledge, be that property, legal or financial.
