What is medical negligence?
Medical negligence is when a medical or healthcare professional has failed in their duty of care to a patient. This can involve initial misdiagnosis, making a condition worse by not following standard procedures or cause direct injury to a patient.
Referred to as clinical negligence in the legal profession there is generally a three year time limit. This can be from the date of negligence or the time you realised you had experienced negligent treatment. What is an industrial injury at work?
Industrial injuries are contracted through work-related accidents or work-related diseases, following some form of negligence on the part of the employer.
Work-related diseases are often due to lengthy exposure to asbestos, chemicals, loud noises, dust fumes or extended use of a particular piece of equipment. These can all lead to conditions and diseases that can be life changing for the individual.
Work-related accidents may be due to faulty equipment, slips, trips and falls or any other adverse conditions encountered in the workplace that results in personal injury.
