The property market in 2020 has been nearly as eventful as the year itself. Whilst we’re still surrounded by ringing phones and piles of paperwork, the big difference is where! Lockdown and social distancing means that we are currently sat at home operating as a remote estate agent rather than in the office or ‘out and about’ on the road visiting peoples homes. We went from touching elbows to isolation pretty quickly didn’t we?
Much like the British people, the property market is resilient! Working from home hasn’t stopped us listing property, agreeing sales and progressing current sales. Uncharted waters are there to be mapped and, with the help of technology and proactive clients, we are able to embrace the current situation (from a safe two-metre distance) and find new ways to enable us to bring property to the wider audience.
Properties can still be viewed on property portals such as Rightmove and pooletownsend.co.uk, coupled with external viewings via Google Street Map. The more adventurous owners are happy to provide us with property photographs for newly instructed homes and to forward us virtual viewings via video tours around their properties. People quarantined at home will find themselves on laptops, iPads and mobile phones looking for the house of their dreams. The will to continue cannot be underestimated!
Our team of property professionals and legal conveyancers are also continually supporting and progressing currently agreed sales to the point of them being ‘exchange ready.’ Enquiries can be raised and answered, searches can be applied for and returned and everything that can be done will be done.
Before we know it we will be out of lockdown and boy will we be busy with a backlog of physical property viewings and sale agreed properties primed for exchange of contracts. The market is eager to continue where it left off.
As ever, Poole Townsend will be continuing to provide the highest level of customer service and property sales in the local area. Get in touch with our team of local experts today.
Stay safe everyone and look after yourselves and those around you.
