At Poole Townsend, we’re proud to be part of a growing number of businesses across the UK that are employee-owned and last week, we took a moment to celebrate just that with our very first Employee Ownership Day (EO Day)!
Since becoming an employee-owned business earlier this year, we’ve seen first-hand the positive impact it’s having on our team and the way we work. EO Day gave us the perfect opportunity to bring everyone together, reflect on what this change means, and celebrate the people who make Poole Townsend what it is, our amazing staff.
What is EO Day all about?

EO Day is a national event that shines a light on businesses where employees have a meaningful stake and say in the future of the company. It’s all about recognising the power of shared ownership, long-term thinking, and building strong, sustainable businesses.
Across our offices in Barrow, Milnthorpe, Kendal, Grange, and Ulverston, we celebrated with branch get-togethers, fizz or cups of tea, (and plenty of cake!), and a big thank you to every single colleague who plays a part in helping us support our clients every day.
What does employee ownership mean for you?
For our clients, nothing has changed. Our team are still the same friendly, knowledgeable team who know the local area and understand your needs. But now, they also have a real stake in the business, which means they’re even more invested in delivering the high standards of service Poole Townsend is known for. Whether you’re buying or selling a property, looking for expert legal advice, or planning your financial future, you can continue to count on us to put your needs first.
Looking ahead with pride

Becoming employee-owned was an important step in securing the long-term future of Poole Townsend, and it’s one we’re incredibly proud of. It helps us keep our values at the heart of what we do, invest in our people, and continue growing in a way that benefits both our team and our clients.
We had a fantastic first EO Day, and we’re already looking forward to next year’s! Thank you to our clients, colleagues, and communities for being part of this journey with us.
