Following the Prime Minister’s announcement last night, England now moves to a new national lockdown. You would be forgiven for not knowing exactly what this means for your property sale or the search for your dream home, especially since our area has moved from Tier 2, through Tier 4 and now into national lockdown, all within a few weeks. However, one factor that has remained constant throughout has been the Government’s commitment to keeping the housing market open.
The national lockdown requires that under UK Coronavirus Alert Level 5, people across England must stay at home, except for very limited exceptions.
The guidance states:
"You can still move home. People outside your household or support bubble should not help with moving house unless absolutely necessary. Estate and letting agents and removals firms can continue to work. If you are looking to move, you can go to property viewings. Follow the national guidance on moving home safely, which includes advice on social distancing, letting fresh air in, and wearing a face covering."
Safety is paramount for both our customers and teams, We are working behind closed doors or from home – in line with guidance – but are available for pre-arranged meetings, or by email or telephone.
Property viewings in a national lockdown
To preserve the health and safety of our staff and customers during valuations and viewings, we will be following strict social distancing guidelines. In fact, we have created detailed guides for both those who are selling their property and those viewing. Visit our COVID-19 Viewings page to download these.
As we have detailed in previous blogs whilst you will be able to request traditional viewings, due to current circumstances, we understand that this may not be the preferred route for some clients. In light of this, we endeavour to make as many properties available for virtual viewings as possible. You will be able to request these via the online property listing.
Please be aware that, whilst our phone lines have been incredibly busy, there is a range of ways of getting in touch with our team. You can contact us via email, live chat or by filling out an enquiry form on our website here.
