Staff at local solicitors, estate agents and financial services company, Poole Townsend, will be swapping their usual smart dress rules on Friday 7th October for a more casual look, to help raise money towards children affected by genetic disorders.
Jeans for Genes Day is a national children’s charity who raise money for children with genetic disorders, providing funding for the care and support of children and their families. Research has shown that genetic disorders are individually very rare but together they are the cause of more than half of all childhood deaths in the UK.
Vicky Johnson, Mortgage Adviser and charity fund organiser for Poole Townsend, comments: “This is the fifth consecutive year we have taken part in Jeans for Genes Day. Our aim is to raise as much money as possible and we are hoping for all members of staff to join in at our six offices throughout Furness and the South Lakes”.
Members of staff will be discarding their usual smart dress and wearing jeans to work in exchange for a minimum £2 donation.
