This year the Barrow & District Junior Football league held a competition for the Under 10 league. Around 18 teams took place in group stages and the winners from each group played in the semi-finals and then into the Finals. Hawcoat Park Dynamos put two teams into the competition and both teams got to the Spring Cup and Spring Shield Finals. The finals were held on immaculate pitches at Hawcoat Park.
A minutes applause was held in memory of Josh West who played for Swarthmoor Junior Football who tragically died a week before the finals.
Both cups were played between Hawcoat Park and Furness Cavaliers. The Spring Shield was against Hawcoat Blacks and Furness Cavalier Blues. An entertaining game played in a great spirit with Hawcoat Blacks coming away victorious. Adam Downward stepped up for Hawcoat Blacks to receive the Shield.
The second final was for the Spring Cup and the chance to be crowned champions. Hawcoat Park Reds played Furness Cavaliers Whites and a pulsating game between two very good teams produced some great football. Hawcoat Reds came out on top to win the Spring Cup. Sam Batte lifted the Spring Cup for Hawcoat.
