On Monday 10th of August Angela Cornthwaite will be setting off to ride 874 gruelling miles from John O’Groats to Lands end in aid of Muscular Dystrophy UK.
The team of riders have been putting in hours of training in preparation for covering over 120 miles a day for 8 days, and have raised over £13,000 for this great cause so far.
Angela will be joining her brother in law Sam Taylor on this challenging ride for a cause that’s close to their hearts. In June 2014 Sam’s son, Will, was diagnosed with Duchenne Muscular Dystrophy, a muscle wasting condition which will have a significant impact on Will’s future.
Sam says: ‘As a family, our focus is on giving Will the best quality of life, and also on doing what we can to support research into treatments for Will and other children like him’
Angela, Sam and the rest of the team are being supported by local businesses Poole Townsend, The Furness Building Society, Dance Attik and the Crooklands Hotel – amongst others.
Local people are being encouraged to show their support on Friday 14th August, from 17.30, as the team stop en-route at The Crooklands Hotel.
