The Tour de Furness takes place this Sunday morning (7th September 2014). The starting point for all routes is the Roose Cons Club, Roose Road/Holbeck Road, Barrow-in-Furness. This year there will be four routes from 5 to 50 miles. The Tour de Furness raises money for St Mary’s Hospice and other local charities and since its formation in 1996 has raised £222,476.
Local solicitor, estate agent and financial advisers, Poole Townsend, are again this year offering the chance to all riders to win a Defy4 Giant bike worth approx £575. To qualify to be entered into the Free Prize Draw riders must raise a minimum of £50 in sponsorship and return their money by Saturday 4th October 2014.
Last year’s winner, Paul Coulton comments: “I just couldn’t believe it when I heard I had won a brand new Giant bike. At first I thought, it can’t be true, I never win anything. But I am still enjoying riding my free bike”.
